What We Don’t Love

– This is an older headset and the performance just isn’t as good as the newer Focus 2 –  we strongly recommend you look at that instead
– Shorter microphone boom does let in more background sound than some other headsets
– Cushions don’t encompass the ear, so some background noise leaks in
– ANC and noise cancelling microphone not as good as new model
– No ANC control
– Cannot charge and use at the same time
– Not compatible with the Voyager Office Base

The Plantronics/Poly B825 Voyager Focus is engineered to seamlessly connect with Bluetooth-enabled smartphones, PCs, and tablets. While it can pair with Bluetooth-equipped desk phones, it’s important to note that compatibility may vary, and it might not work with most traditional desk phones.

Equipped with on-demand Active Noise Cancelling, you have the flexibility to choose when to engage it, providing you with control over your office environment. However, keep in mind that the ear cushions don’t fully envelop your ears, so the noise-canceling experience, while effective in reducing constant background noises like air conditioning and electronic hums, may not be as robust for voices. In terms of sound quality, the Voyager Focus excels. With its dual-wearing style and superior wideband sound, it delivers excellent audio clarity on calls, regardless of the device used. The headset’s bass balance adds a pleasant touch for music enthusiasts.

Designed for comfort, the Voyager Focus features large leatherette ear cushions and a unique ‘hammock’ pressure-reducing headband, ensuring all-day wear without discomfort or pinching. However, it’s worth noting that the fit is not overly tight, so users who engage in energetic movements, such as rocking out at the desk or being highly mobile, should exercise caution, especially when reaching under desks.

While the Voyager Focus was groundbreaking in its time and gained significant popularity, it’s now considered an older model showing signs of aging. As it approaches discontinuation, it’s worth considering newer models like the Focus 2, which boast improved features, including enhanced active noise cancellation and microphone capabilities.
