The Sync 60 Is a larger speakerphone, suitable for rooms up to 6m x 6m. A 2nd unit can be paired for larger meetings. It connects to laptop/PC by cable to USB-A and USB-C and to mobile or tablet via Bluetooth. It needs to stay connected to AC power to work and has 2 spare USB ports for mobile/tablet charging.  This version is UC and Zoom certified (pending at time of launch).

There are just  2 variants in the range; Certified for MS Teams (which has a special Teams button) or not (UC). This version is UC Certified.

Certification explanations –  MS Teams (-M) vs UC

Teams Certified.  Functionality can depend on how you use Teams and the package you have but in general a Teams certified unit will allow you some shortcuts into Teams and its functions. If you don’t use it with Teams, it will work as a UC headset with 99.9% of applications but won’t be certified for those softphones.

UC stands for ‘Unified Communications’ , essentially that just means its not certifed for Teams but is certified for other things. It will still work with Teams, giving you audio, you just won’t get those shortcuts or notifications) and, like the MS version can be used with other softphones and applications.  UC versions are certified for use with leading UC platforms such as Cisco, Mitel, Avaya, Zoom (certification pending at launch), RingCentral, 8×8, AWS & Unify but will work with any application regardless.

 

 

Digging a little deeper

The USB-A and USB-C connections makes the SY60 is a simple but powerful plug and play solution for any small to medium sized boardoom. With 6 microphone ‘steerable array’ to pick up voices up to 3m away, the adaptive gain control ensures that voices come through at a consistent volume, no matter what distance the talker stands from the unit. The noise and echo reduction features mean ONLY those in that bubble are heard. 

2 high performance speakers are great mean everyone can hear clearly and also give music reproduction.

Using the Sync 60 with video?  No worries –  there’s a USB-A pass through port for USB video camera connection.

There’s 2 bright, obvious status light bars for 360 degree call status indication and active talker tracking. In addition to the usual call answer/end, volume & mute buttons there’s a programmable function button for you to programme your most used function – play/pause, redial, hold/resume call and more options to chose from.

The SY60 has full duplex so if both ends talk simultaneously, what’s said comes through so no one misses a word.  This feature is not included most small speakerphones.

This unit is 1kg so can be transported between rooms when needed (NB no case included) and also comes with the Kensington lock slot if you want to secure it to a desk (lock not included).  You can also add the BT600 USB dongle if you wnat a cable free connection to a PC/laptop.
